F31 replacement headlamp lenses?

Looking to buy a pair of replacement lenses for my F31. Can’t seem to find the oem part on FCP or any other webpage. Several aftermarket options that vary in price widely. Anyone have a suggestion or experience with buying lenses?

There is no OEM replacement lens, only aftermarket. In most cases restoring lenses is a better option than replacing them.

My lenses have the starring in them. And also would do a clear lens for the projector top to maximize the output. Guess aftermarket it is.

Out of interest, did you ever replace you lenses with aftermarket? Just about to push the button on some ebay specials from China, but aprehensive of the quality/fittment. I suppose can't be worse than the mottled mess that I already have on the car.

It looks like a time consuming job based on the various Youtube vids that I've seen but thinking of tackling it soon.

Actually Hella does sell replacement lens that you can sometimes find on eBay, mostly from overseas. But read the description very carefully.

And replacing the lens is not that easy, involving baking your headlights in an oven and not destroying them as well as properly sealing them.

Yeap, have seen those sold online. There is a seller out of New Jersey on eBay.

Exactly!

SirMeatPants: You have to understand what version of the headlight you have. Is it pre-LCI or LCI as lenses are different. The pre-LCI lens version (halogen and bi-xenon headlights, both) has to have special Y shaped guides at the bottom for the bracket that installs onto them. The LCI version does not.

Here is the LEFT lens with Y shaped guides for preLCI headlight:

The bracket is #14 on the diagram below. The bracket is for gap control between the bottom edge of the headlight and the edge of the bumper cover. The LCI lenses already have the alignment guides built into them from manufacture and do not require the bracket.
