Calling all fabricators for aftermarket carbon fiber parts
I was really surprised that there was no offer of c/f mirror caps from BMW directly.
Given the shockingly high price of the M Performance parts, when might we see some carbon fiber alternatives hitting the market? |

There already are a bunch of 3rd party options on the market as the mirrors are the same as the g8X M3

There will also be ither companies who will be making for G87 M2. Give them a little time, these companies need a car for their speccing and R&D. It wont take long.
Also keep in mind, "caps" vs replacing actual housing makes a big difference. |

As mentioned, a lot of the aftermarket solutions: wheels, tires, suspension, engine bolt-ons, even some exhaust solutions will carry over from the M3/M4 development.

Yes, I know but some may not. As car is a different length, a downpipe or catback exhaust may actually be different . While I have no info on the BMW rims (as I am not a fan if any if them so dont care), offset and clearance may be an issue (it also may not but just saying). For intake, exact placement and engine bay can also cause a fitment issue. I, again, cant say for any certainty but for me, on certain parts, will wait till they're designed specifically for this car. |
