I was looking to see if anyone had cut into their exhaust to give it a more "stock yet straight pipe" feel. I know it was done on a 335i but I couldn't find anything specific to this model. Decided to cut my exhaust off and see what's inside. Here is what I found

I forgot to snap a pic of the insulating material inside of the exhuast... which bad part on me, but basically anywhere there is perforation there was insulation material.

Gonna weld her back up, throw her back in and will add two 3" resonators and get a sound clip. Currently running straight pipe with resonators, valve system still in place and is a bit too loud with valve open on sport plus mode. Hoping it'll tone down just enough with gutted muffler.

Once complete will post update.

That’s basically a muffler delete with 2 resonators? No downpipe?

I was planning on a muffler delete with bullet resonators. Was it really “too loud”? Also, was there any in-cabin drone?
