I don’t understand how it got that far either. I totally get how he lost control for a second, but he had to keep going and going and going to go as far as to hit that telephone pole. It’s almost as if he did it on purpose. Maybe he had a seizure or something?

I see one of two scenarios.

First, he used to own a Mustang and thought he was leaving C&C.

Second, because it rarely rains in California most of people don't know how drive when the roads are wet.

It sounds like he bounced it off the rev limiter in sequential mode for 2nd gear and then shifted to third and floored it again loosing the back end and couldn’t recover. Expensive lesson to learn.
