just took a step back

I’d been given a production date of week 13, and had been eagerly checking the BMW website to see if I had entered production early.

Every day I logged on last week, and yesterday, I was showing as ‘Production scheduled’ , which I guess related to status 112.

This morning, I’m back at the first dot, and the website stated ‘Order received’. Status 111.

Does this mean my dealership has bumped me? Or could there be a mistake in the system?

I’ve reached out to my SA, will update when they come back to me.

Is it too early for whiskey?

I would not read too much into it. There might be a delay in production at SLP or a component for your build has a delay. You may or may not get pushed out. Sit tight.

That’s absolutely fair - unfortunately I assume dealer nefariousness!

(To clarify dealership nefariousness - I assumed my allocation had been given to someone else!)

This generally meant a production delay for me on a G82 xDrive back in late 2021. Prod week would be pushed back 1-2 weeks or so each time.

My dealership had nothing to do with it.

Dealer has no way to alter anything at the plant. For the factory a dealer doesnt exist. Only BMW Corp can interface with the plant. Not a dealer.

If you have the carbon bucket seat option on your build, could be cause of that. Or possibly the charger recall. Or possibly something different altogether. Isn't this fun ..

Build week likely got pushed back a week or two. You can also call the genius hotline and they'll tell you your build week.

It could be simply because some logistics related motive; like they delayed you a bit so they can build more cars and fill the next scheduled RO-RO ship bound for your port of entry. This is the most frequent reason for changes in production timelines . After that, the other reasons like extra options, parts issues, etc may come into play ...

Sethhboii would kill to be in your position - it's all relative

Sit tight, we'll all get our cars eventually.

Too many dealership griping sessions lately (IMO). Let's get back to talking about the car rather than the process of getting one

As SOON as I get my allocation, I’m ordering the yellow DRLs from AUTOID. I’ll get spacers for the wheels and springs once those are manufactured

As long as the Production Number is the same then your car is your car

But you should still get some whiskey to cope with the stress. Heck, I'll have one too.

After checking this morning, it looks like I only slipped a week!

Probably my own fault for including the wireless charging station.
