I can't believe my car has a recall, and two service bulletins before even being released. On the other hand, I'm damn happy BMW is replacing faulty components after a thoroughly vetted Problem Management process.

The SIB doesn't indicate all cars will exhibit this issue but if you get your car and do notice noise from the front you at least know what it is.

This is what happens when you source your exotic German performance machine’s steering components from a freaking elevator manufacturer. 😝

So this is recall #2 for a car that hasn't even gone on sale yet? Not off to a stellar start. NFW I'd want to own a first-year car, particularly a very early one. But that's just me.

It's not a recall, it's a SIB and if you look at the affected models it's a large range of BMWs.

Quite a few folks thought it was suspension issues from lowered cars on springs or HAS kits. |

Had this issue on my G22. Dealer ended up replacing the steering rack. Was at the dealer for about a month. At the time this wasn’t a known issue. Dealer had to test drive for a couple weeks with chassis ears until they figured it out. Glad there’s an official fix now.

I’m getting creaking noise on my X3 which I’ve started a post link here. I wonder if it extends to G01 models but not listed in the notice.
I’ve taken out to the dealer for warranty repair twice now, and I’m about to take it back to them for a third time! |
