JB4 Installation

Looking for help identifying how/where to route the obd cable through the firewall on a LHD car. I refuse to install it the lazy way and wrap it around the door.

Thanks in advance.

There are many videos online. There is a rubber grommet you can remove. Then you attach the plug to a hanger and push it up though the hole. Then from the engine side pull the hanger through.

This is how I did it. You will see a roughly triangular plastic plate under the hood on the drivers side all the way up by the hinges for the hood. There is a small plastic latch with lock and unlock markings that you can unlock and then remove. In that cavity is where I store my JB4, and where the grommet through to the cabin can be found. You may want to remove panel ABOVE the pedals in the cabin on the underside of the dash to make it easier to snake it in. Its an easy removal.

If you need more, I can post some pics later today. Good luck!

Don’t mean to hijacker the thread, but what’s the reason for needing to route through the firewall?

I thought JB4 only needed access to the engine bay. Sorry am noob

It also has a connection to the OBD port to integrate further with the car and output all kinds of cool info from the car.

Without the OBD connection, the jb4 works as a stage 1.

You need the OBD for all the extra JB4 and exclusive features that make it so special compared to other piggybacks.
