VRSF 6.5" Intercooler Question
Hey Guys! Kind of a newbie here so please excuse me but I recently bought a VRSF 6.5” Competirion Intercooler. Now I won’t lie, I probably should’ve done some research prior to getting it but the price and everything jus sold me LOL (I bought it off OfferUp). Now my question is, since the one I bought from this guy had only the intercooler, I wanted to know if I am missing any hardware or it’s really as easy as just taking the old one off and putting in the new one? I hope someone lets me know, appreciate y’all 🥂

No extra hardware needed. Reuse existing c clips from the turbo to intercooler pipe, and the chargepipe. Use existing screws that hold the stock intercooler in.

It would be good to replace the old rings that go in the inlet/outlet pipes.

Meant to say o rings, but I think you got the idea. Good luck. Kies motorsport has a great diy video for this job on YouTube if you need guidance. I did it myself in an hour or so. It's pretty straightforward if you aren't replacing the charge pipe as well.

I have the same intercooler, and used the oem screws. There was more than enough thread for a solid engagement. 5 years no issues here
Although ive always wondered how those screws do coupled with one of the larger race style FMICs.... i would def go longer with those just for added comfort

My installer used the oem screws and I had an issue with the IC nearly falling out of the car about 6 months later.. Only thing that kept it from happening was the charge pipes etc. Maybe I was just unlucky?
