Pads.
I hated the OE pads on my F87. Swapped them for Ferodo DS2500s.
What other options are people considering?

I enjoyed Hawk HP+ for a dual-duty track/street pad on my 240, might try them again on the G87 if they make em. For absolutely no reason I also want to try Endless MX-72s

Subscribed. Can't wait to see if we find a happy medium between OEM bite/dust mitigation. I hated the dust on my F80, but never made the leap to new pads. I just ended up washing the car every 3 days... :/

I'm strongly leaning towards the isweep pads. But I can't do anything without a car so stay tuned.

Here's some recent G80 experiences with the iSweep IS1500.

And the IS2000s.
https://g80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=2006806 I think I'm going to go with the 2000s, "I stand by my statement that the 2000s are 70%+ less dust and I haven’t had a squeal yet; still think it’s been the best “upgrade” I’ve made. All that plus better breaking power, should be a no brainer!"

I will say these things dust like I have never seen. Of course it helps that my delivering dealer used a nice quality tire dressing that slung crap all over for the dust to stick to. Anyway, looking forward to finding something less dusty as well.

I don’t know if I can bring myself to spending that kinda money on iSweep, if I did then it would be the is1500 pad since my main goal is brake dust mitigation. And on black wheels, this is a must. Also looking at EBC, Carbotech, Stoptech, Centric, etc.
Been mostly looking at the G80/82 forums for info and feedback before making a decision. Anyone care to offer recommendations for someone who isn’t really going to track their car but will do spirited drives from time to time and cares about brake dust reduction? |

Red stuffs do not have the best stopping power. I would look into yellow stuffs (I think I have said this before). |

So after watching more youtube videos and reading more forums besides BMW, including vette and volkswagon, I decided to try the carbotech 1521s. Hoping they get here before my new wheels go on. Since they're piano black, the OEM dust will destroy them in short order (being clean that is).
Plus, there's a recent thread in the G80 forums with a few happy carbotech users.

FWIW Iron and Fallout remover does wonders for removing brake dust. I am not sure of the effects of frequent use, I use it only a handful of times a year but it makes quick work of built-up brake dust on my track car using race pads. Just spray on, let sit for a few, light scrub, and rinse. |

I bit the bullet and ordered front/rear iSweep IS1500 pads. Was gonna go with the CarboTechs but got these for the sake of trying something else out that hasn’t been used yet on the G87 even though they’re the same pads used on the G80/82. This brake dust is killing me!
