LCI Update. Any guesses?

Any guesses as to what will be changing when the LCI update hits in a couple of years?

Grille? Seats? Rear end design?

My guess is that with the volume of the 2 series, the LCI is going to be similar to Z4 or 8 series. Which is not much will be changed.

What is a "CraftedClarity glass controls"

No thanks on the rest like the CF hood. I feel the 240i is a "bang for your buck" type car getting a B58 in the low $50 range. Spec'ing it up, then you get into a price I feel there are cars to consider.

Now offering a manual transmission in 2025 with the B58... that would be special.

I doubt we will get CF roof option in the US. I wish we can just get the nicer sportier seat option like what EU models have.

What I would like to see - a cleaned up iDrive 8 screen and automated driving suite the rest of the BMW line gets.

So I'm guessing:

- iDrive 8.5
- Slight redesign of front and rear
- More (or different) color choices
- No more cerium gray accents/badging
- Slight power bump? (Not to sure but would be nice)

- iDrive 8.5 already confirmed for 2024 (will just need a software update)
- Hopefully most of the redesign is in the rear headlights...
- We are getting that Z Blue and Skyscraper Gray already, hoping for a Green option
- I think they will still keep the gray so they can charge $400 for the 'shadowline'
- Maybe very slight power bump

What I want

- Sport seat option
- Red fake leather seat option (available on other BMWs)
- Additional wheel options (already confirmed)
- More aggressive stock lip (similar to the M performance)
- Fix the steering feel somehow (#pipedream)

Where'd you get confirmation?

I thought only a few of the models were going to be upgradeable via software as they don't all have the same hardware.

This is correct - there’s a chance the ‘23 M240s may have the right hardware needed for it, but it is true that just because you have iDrive 8 does not mean it will be compatible with iDrive 8.5. I’m sure in time they’ll share out what’s compatible on a model by model basis

M Sport Seats SHOULD have been an option for the beginning. I mean Mexico gets them..

Why on Earth would you want fake leather over real leather? I was looking at the X3 M40i and saw red only in fake leather and was very annoyed. When I started looking at the M240i and saw the red option with real leather it made me want it even more.

Would love to see ventilated seats, especially for a car in the $50,000 range. Also hoping we get the B 58 TU2 which is a 48v mild hybrid with port and direct injection 🤞🤞

Ventilated seats would be great!
Also (in the US) more interior color options for leather.

My X3M has ventilated seats, and while I dont fuss with them, its one of the groups favorites to complain about how poorly BMW ventilated seats work compared to other brands (most commenting that they cannot even tell a difference when they are turned on). So you might not be missing out on much.

Seems to be a fair amount of people who are really satisfied with the Sensatec interior

I am wondering if the LCI updates that just hit the 4-Series, will trickle down to the 2-Series.

Updated Steering wheel & stitching, Laser Taillights, New headlight design, Seat color patterns, etc..

Some new Laser Taillights would be sick.

Guessing a few of those, as well as the crystal style knub thing and interior vent style change.

Laser taillights would be awesome, but likely too costly for the 2. Honestly hoping for those sport seats, but seems like that won't happen if they didn't give them to the 4.

I hope a refresh also allows the sport seats in the USA in the m240i. This would seal it for me to use as my daily when I replace our X3 M40i. They are adding this in these in the i4 M50, so maybe we will get lucky. Love these seats in our M4.

They didn't add them to the 2025 M440i though, so I doubt we will get them on the M240i here in the U.S. and Canada. Can always find a Mexican car and get the seats from one.
