Exclamation TRE Launches Carbon Fibre Kit for 2022 BMW G42 M240i

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Hey everyone, I'm excited to share with you the latest ID-01 Carbon Fibre Upgrade Package for the 2022 BMW G42 2 Series (M Sport models) and M240i by TRE! This package is all about combining elegance and performance.

The ID-01 kit includes a carbon fibre front splitter, rear diffuser, rear spoiler, and aerodynamic side skirts, all made from top-quality pre-preg carbon fibre. Our designers put a lot of thought into crafting this package using advanced CAD methods, ensuring it fits perfectly with the distinct lines of both the new 2 Series and M240i. Plus, it uses OEM mounting points for easy installation.

Check out the front splitter for a clean and understated look without winglets. It integrates nicely with the OEM bumper and is easy to install with additional mounting points and 3M self-adhesive tape.

The side skirts follow the same design language and are also supported by 3M self-adhesive tape for a quick and easy installation.

Moving to the back, the rear spoiler has an impressive, fast-road inspired design with excellent fitment thanks to advanced 3D CAD technology. The clear coat and pre-preg construction ensure a long-lasting glossy finish.

Lastly, the rear diffuser uses OEM clips and showcases an aggressive 3-fin design, reminiscent of recent BMW M coupes. Seen here in prototype form, it's expected to ship at the end of May / Early June.

Designed and developed in the UK, TRE's upgrade program shows its commitment to providing top-notch products. If you're interested in the TRE ID-01 carbon fibre package for your car, drop us an email at sales@autoid.co.

For more details about the ID-01 upgrade program, visit the product page here.

When the 240 looks better than the M2.

This is the darkest timeline for M cars and we somehow got through the Bangle era too.

It’s the over-the-top body kit on the M2. The M Sport body kit is sigficantly more subtle and doesn’t protrude away from the body in an awkward way like the M2.

I’ll likely never get around to fully accepting the M2 aesthetically, it’s just far too awkward looking IMO.

This is why I'm glad we have choices. The G42 looks awkward to me, especially up front, though I did like the look better in person. Looks really nice here in black with this kit, wheels, etc.

Plenty of people prefer the look of the G20 M340i over the G80, so this is not exactly the first time some people like the design of the non-M better.

You guys saying this looks better than an M2....let's at least wait to see a modded one.

Comparing a stock car with a fully modded one is just plain dumb.

I think that a stock M240i looks a LOT better than a stock M2. M2 looks like Minecraft spin-off with its blocky rear and front bumper bits and weird square hamster cheek looking front bumper cutouts. Not cohesive whatsoever. I bet you can't find a single review that doesn't comment on its design choices that fall short.

I can list 50 cars that the G42 displayed here looks better than. Why are we picking on the G87 specifically any time we see a good looking G42? Nothing to gain in building a rivalry. Appreciate your G42 without putting it up against the G87. Being trible or having a narrow model specific appreciation displays insecurity IMHO.

You prefer the subdued clean G42 look over the G87? Great. Some people prefer the look of the G87 or are more concerned with its mechanical advantages. No point in obsessing over subjective matters as if they are fact.

I have found plenty that like the looks actually. The same guys who hate the looks of the M2....hate the M240.

If the front and rear and side are all "blocky"...that sounds like it's pretty cohesive.

I completely agree with this statement. The price difference between a G42 and a G87 isn't so large that it should prevent one from "having to settle" for a G42. G42 rolled out first and I think we all wanted to see the G87 be lighter, quicker and have a more communicative steering, that's all. But as far as looks, I agree, buy whatever tickles your fancy more. Some like to stick a double-decker spoiler on their ride and while it's not my thing, as long as it yields them biting their lip every time they look at it, more power to them.
