Wind noise - driver side window

Anyone else experiencing this?

I've the car for 1.5 weeks and notice that I can clearly hear wind noise coming from the top back side of the driver side window when going 40+ mph. Everything looks fine but I'm wondering if maybe the window is seated too low or something.

Have you measured it against the passenger window?

I hear the wind noise as well when going freeway speeds, but there doesn't seem to be any leaks..

Mine's pretty quiet. I don't think BMW expects you to hear wind noise.

Haven't had the opportunity yet but I plan on checking that.

I'm sure that we all have some amount of wind noise, but I'm too busy listening to music and the engine purring to think about wind noise. But it's possible that on a few of the vehicles the window seal meeting the glass could be a bit compromised. I'm going to check it out myself, I really like this car!...

So far I only got mine up to 125mph. Pretty quiet to me on the highway, window seems to seal up pretty well.

Mine is quiet at freeway speeds. Sounds like your window might need adjusting.
One way of checking is to draw with chalk along the rubber that the glass seals against, and see if the glass rubs it out all the way. Any chalk that's left is where the air leak is.

Thanks I'll give the chalk thing a try but it sounds like I may need some adjustment.

While at a stop fold in the mirrors and try again. Do you hear the same noise? If so, it's likely not the mirror.

Unfortunately the mirrors don't stay folded when you start driving.

Interesting. I always fold-in mine when I'm in the alley below 13 mph, but I've never tried driving faster with them out. Just assumed they'd stay folded.

He's right. I tested this by accident last night (didn't realize they were folded in as I drove off), and once I hit a certain speed, they unfolded on their own. Not sure what speed it happened at...it all quite happened quickly, if you catch my drift.

I’m definitely hearing this as well but not all the time… the first time it happened I really thought my door was still not fully closed… it’s not a very loud noise but loud enough that even though I’m half deaf it can still annoy the heck out of me

Do not notice wind noise at all.
Would be aware of it because I am very sensitive to that.

Maybe check the rubber gasket that runs along the inside of the door .

I had an Infiniti that I had to run my hand (while pressing) around the door gasket to get in better worked into place because it was slightly short of where it needed to be to make an airtight seal.

I had to tug on it a bit as i worked it better into place

No noticeable noise of any kind at all. Easily quietest and most comfortable car ever driven except for the my aunt's old Lexus.
