M2 Allocation?
Hi everyone…can I get some clarity on this?
I submitted my info online for a quote on an M2 and ended up placing a deposit for an M2 which has been submitted to the order bank. There was no allocation available. About a week later, I was contacted by another dealer I had been speaking with saying they have an earlier production date for their order bank submission. My dealer said that it doesn't mean anything and that they can't guarantee a production date without an allocation, but the opposing dealer is saying they have one with an earlier "reg. production date". Can someone clarify what exactly that means and who is being truthful? Last edited by Don-DiGorno; 04-22-2023 at 11:10 PM.. |

All that (status 47) shows is you have an order in the order bank. You cant get an estimated production date without having an allocation (status would show as 111/112 with a production number). |

To emphasize something Rob said, the production date is only an estimate even after you get an allocation. Not guaranteed. Just in case a CA promised that, a thing they should not do.

Maybe ask them what the production date is and what status is available. If they can get you into status 47 that doesn't mean anything. Ask them how many people are ahead of you in status 47. If they have availability at status 111 or 112 then production will begin soon. |

Possibly the “other” dealer has an allocation someone backed out of, otherwise you’re in the same spot (nowhere, other than a requested allocation) with both. |

Ok, so this is mostly what I thought as well but needed confirmation to make sure I was understanding correctly. The opposing dealer was going by the requested production date but admitted they had no allocation. I’m just going to stay with the dealer I have the deposit with. They have been honest and straightforward so far. Thanks for all the information everyone.
