Unable to initialize navigation.

We had a hitch during prep for delivery, the dealer was unable to get the navigation to initialize, and order an update USB from BMW which they'll install when the car is in for break in service.

No big deal since the android auto worked perfectly.

I also read of similar issues on other newer models and the USB stick update fixing it in minutes.

So I'm not too worried about it.

Just curious if anyone else had this issue and resolved it themselves?

My dealership experienced this with an X7 and and X1. It's a known issue. One of my senior techs was able to find a work around, but it was an outside-the-box kind of fix. I can't say what happened specifically, because I don't have the technical knowledge, but it is fixable.

Thank you! Yes X7 was what they specifically mentioned as well. That was the only issue so I'm not worried about it. I have no doubt they'll fix it when she's in for service.

I’ve seen a few cars where the navigation wasn’t showing current location. I believe a communication module was the culprit and an easy fix.

Thanks! I'll mention this when in for break in service.
