MP Carbon Air Inlets

Thinking of taking mine off my build (which is due to dock this week) due to a couple of reasons:

1. The aftermarket community will surely come out with other and possibly better options. Looking your way R44Zach

2. The idea of them being glued on at port doesn’t sit right with me. If a better option does indeed come out, you’re stuck with them.

3. I can get them for about $750 through my parts dept.

Anyone else have this FOMO?

Actually, my fear is the opposite. If you go aftermarket and the fitment is off and/or a private shop screws up gluing them in, you're screwed. If port installed, and they are messed up, wouldn't that fall under warranty repair?

For the spoiler, its a no brainer and aftermarket all the way (with double sided tape and a commonly installed part, the risk is low).

Completely understandable fear but the high end replica stuff has OEM’ish fitment. But you’re right, you’re insured a carefree product.

Spoiler, 100% aftermarket is the way to go.

I'm waiting for RW carbon. They actually bought an M2 that they're 3D scanning and will be able to test on. I have no fitment concerns.

I already have their g42 spoiler and mirror caps. Seen in this spy shot of my car.

My friend knows the guys there. They are working on a number of cf parts. Unfortunately, I am not a fan of their G42 spoiler (it doesn't sit in the right place). It needs to be back on the area just behind where it sits.

Not only are they glued on, they also have to cut the horizontal piece which interferes with the cf inlets diagonal part.

Which adds to why I want it to be under warranty.

We'll be making some replacement ducts.

Hoping to have them plug and play rather than "cut and ruin" like the M Performance ones

I believe this is the one made by TRE that Autoid and IND sell but I am not 100% positive (there seem to multiple versions on the websites and they state fits 2021+ which I am more curious about...the 2022 & 2023 G42 and 2023 G87 uses the same trunk but does the 2021 have the same?)..

I have the one from IND in my garage waiting for my G87, I'm pretty sure it's the same as the one pictured.

I'll get it out and compare it on my G42.

And yes 2021 G42 is the same trunk across the line up eg same as 2023 G87, etc
