Mesh Inserts for Front Bumper
Taking delivery of a TR G87 this week and I started to think of how I could make the front end of the car more cohesive. On my 981 Boxster, I bought some generic grill mesh, cut it to size for the front cooling vents, and glued them in place on the backside with epoxy. Has anyone done or considered doing this on the front grill on the G87? It seems unfinished without any kind of mesh or further protection for he heat exchangers. Also wondering how hard it would be to remove that center part of the front bumper.
Thinking of something like this: https://www.amazon.com/AggAuto-Unive...NrPXRydWU&th=1 |

I think the black part is one piece that includes the side radiator/cooler mounts as well. Likely would have to remove those and pull the whole front clip from the car to remove/replace that black piece. I am hoping there are mesh/grill inserts just not sure how easy an install they are going to be. May have to pull the oil cooler to install without having to pull the whole front end.

Actually on this very note, I have been running Zunsport screens on my F87 for some time now. They look VERY cool, are incredibly solid and do a fantastic job.
I reached out to them about the G87 as that front gap is ridiculous and no doubt will suck up a TON of debris. They dont have a screen set developed yet, but I was able to help find them a UK based G87 owner, and they are working on it! I will be running a set the moment they are available.

The new video by Tuxon_Speed on the front intake install shows removing the front bumper. Looks a lot easier than previous models. No good views of the back but one shot where you see it for a second makes it look like the black and painted sections are a single piece. Really hard to tell.

These guys were looking for a car for test fitting but they are in the UK and they will have some grill protection inserts soon for the G87

Hopefully Zunsport gets a test car with the active cruise control as well. The new video by Daily Downshift shows a decent looking solution for cars without active cruise but I'm not a fan of the zip tie install method. That grill will not work on cars with the radar module also. Not without some serious trimming/cutting anyway.

Would you run these if you were to track the car? I’m just a little apprehensive about air flow restriction … I personally tested the flow restriction with the ones offered by the radiatorgrillstore and it was a little too significant for my liking… so I’m hoping the total surface area covered by mesh offered by Zunsport will be less
