Thanks to a slight change in exhaust packaging, the S58 in the G87 delivers a sound profile that's slightly richer than its G8X counterpart. Our mission, alongside the experts at Eisenmann GmbH, was to design a lightweight system that intensifies the roar of the engine, but doesn't disrupt the tranquility within the vehicle cabin. The resulting prototype Black Series Race System that retains BMW's valve control has also been augmented with a non-resonated center section.

After testing various prototype designs for the IND G87 M2, we found that this non-resonated race system created the most refined and electrifying sound - a perfect accompaniment to the M2's aggressive presence. I would have preferred to attract a little less attention when the valves are closed but for the target audience, it sounds great.

Cop magnet with the valves open! Cracks and pops are nice but a little too pronounced. But would be epic on a track!
