My fuel door is stuck/won't open. Extremely sad right now. Please help

I'm at 1189 miles. I was so excited my break in period is about to come to an end. I stop to get gas any my fuel door won't open. I have 19 miles left in my car before I'm out of gas. My bmw dealership is 8 miles away. Anyone else have this issue? My car needs an update and it says it will take 20 min. I'm not sure if the update has something to do with this. I've been working a lot lately and didn't have time to update my car. I even pff my whole car. I have bipolar depression and this car brings me so much joy. My mood changes when I'm driving this car. Last thing I want to do is have my car in the shop for weeks.

Type “fuel door stuck” in the forum search and you will get the answer.

Had the same issue with mine within the first month of ownership, have seen a couple people posting about it in the forums as well and it almost always seems to be early on in the life of the car. Took it to the dealership and they had to break the door open, apparently it’s a problem with the fuel door actuator. All in all took them about 4 days from me taking the car to the dealership and then giving me a rental to me getting the car back with it fixed, haven’t had any issues so far since. Sorry friend hopefully things get better for you but on the bright side it’s covered by warranty and shouldn’t take too long to get sorted.

Did you have to get the outside fuel door replaced? I ppf my whole car. I don't want to pay for ppf again.

So the advice given by the other thread didn’t help?

They had to beak off my door. Did they order you a new door and paint it themselves or did it already come in the color of your car?

Just had this happen to me. Tried the advice from the other thread and that didn't work.

Car's at the dealership, now we play the waiting game.

Dang! A few owners unfortunately experienced this now.

Potentially another recall brewing. Sux!

I wonder if we should hit those retracting nubs with some WD-40. Is it bad parts or poor design?

OT but I had an A35 that had 4 fuel door actuators in less than 2 years, each one was an "isolated incident" apparently

They must break in the new engineers with designing fuel filler doors.
