Jackie Ding and his G87 M2 on the track again.
![]() Featured on BIMMERPOST.com I liked seeing his drive mode settings and how they changed over the sessions as he works to find the best mix of settings.

Interesting to see him running the engine in "Efficient" mode. Most likely to smooth out the throttle response due to cold track temps and lack of grip?
Also, do only the cars with the carbon trim option get carbon paddles? I thought all auto M2s get the carbon paddles. |

It would be interesting to see what mods the other cars are running.
Because he is relatively competitive but still has a lot of things he can modify. Suspension, tires, aero, more weight loss (sound foam, airbags, rear seats, ...), engine and zf8 tunes, ... |

again w the understeer. Man that is so annoying. The other M2 had the same thing, why can't they fix this. It's very annoying, M3, seems to have this better controlled.

Thanks guys! I'll keep updating my original build thread too. It's been a while.
The understeer, turned out to be a really isolated issue. For whatever reason, the Cup 2 Star spec made the car incredibly understeer-y. As soon as I threw the OEM PS4S* back on the car the following weekend, the M2 suddenly had way less understeer and actually turned a faster lap time than this video. It was a startling revelation and I'm currently under the opinion that the Cup2* is a waste of money and time for us M2 guys. Haha. And yea, having tested all the modes, Efficient on engine mode gave us the best throttle modulation needed. Sport is already fairly aggressive and it feels like Sport+ was even worse. |

If you want to shift the balance toward more oversteer, it's up to you to do it knowing the risks. You can increase front negative camber, make the rear stiffer, bigger front tires, more rake, ... |

Cup 2s have a narrow operating pressure window on the track. They work well even in cold ambient after you get some heat into them. What were your hot tyre pressures as your came off the track at the end of the session?

Assuming they are somewhat precise, they were way too low (100, 120, 150 at most). Ideal temperature I think is around 194F. Maybe they were overinflated. (edit: so from the dashboard, it doesn't seem to be the case, if anything they are underinflated) Fun fact, in asseto corsa, I always struggled to get heat in semislicks in non-areo street legal cars. I had to drop the tire pressure a lot. |
