Stitching coming apart

Hi all.

With around 140 miles on the odometer, I just noticed my driver's seat stitching is frayed already. This is my sixth new BMW and I've never had this issue before after many, many miles. Although I might be the only one here that ordered my G87 with the cognac interior (or not, just haven't seen it), has anyone else experienced this issue with the regular sports seats? And no, I would never sit in the car with anything that could obviously damage the leather.

I have notified my service advisor who said she would seek repair approval through BMW. I'm not worried about them taking care of this, but still, what the hell?

4200 miles on mine, I just cleaned the seats yesterday and nothing jumped out, but here in a bit I'll look at them closer and report if I see any similar issues.

Damn. How much bedazzling do you have on them pants? Rhinestones can be hard on seats. j/k

That sucks indeed. Hope this is a one of.

Just examined my seats, no loose stitching.

Well I guess I'm special!

Glad to hear that you guys aren't having this issue. As far as I can see it's just that one area for now. I'll let you all know how BMW resolves this. I'm inclined to have it dealt with at the 1,200 mile service unless they say otherwise...

I bet they just pop on a new lower cushion. Having owned numerous GM vehicles, I have had a lot of seats replaced, lol.

The last time was on a suburban and they replaced every seat bottom in an hour and it was perfect.

Interesting, but aren't these seats unique to the M2 or can the same be found in M3/M4? If they are unique, they probably won't have any just laying around.

Sir, you were correct. They had to order it twice (because first service advisor quit and they couldn't find it) and just finished it today. Now I have a hint of new car smell again haha.
