Anyone have any tips for helping my dealer add MP HAS for port installation?

My dealer has contacted BMW NA, who is still working on it but hasn't done it yet because it's not available to add. If any of you who've got it added have any tips I could pass along to him, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks,

they have to call BMW NA and request that it be added. They are controlling the supply of that option to prevent shortages. All it takes is for your dealer to make the call.

Correct. This is what my dealer did, still yet, the initial guy he talked to couldn't get it to work either. After a day of calls, it finally went through and I couldn't be happier.

They need to ask for the distribution manager at NA.

It’s a very tight inventory supply so currently the only way to get it added is thru your CA or SM speaking to their NA rep. The first time or fourth time they try it may not be available. If they don’t have an direct relationships with their District NA rep they may have to keep trying until a slot becomes available.

That’s the long and short of it. They don’t want to have a bunch of vehicles waiting on parts at the port that won’t be become available.

I went thru this back in March. It wasn’t showing on the PIA list but I knew it was an option, my SM then reached out to NA who said it wasn’t it stock but it would become available before my car reached the port so it was allowed on the build. The parts were then waiting for my vehicle before it arrived. I’ve experienced the shortest delay at the port, likely because I was one of the first to request it. So I advise getting it added as close to as when your vehicle hits production.

That all makes perfect sense! Glad I got mine added. How are you liking yours? Did you keep it at the factory-set levels, or lower it more?

I’ll know on Monday or Tuesday when I finally get it.

You all will have pictures and immediate impressions then.

Sorry, brain fart...$2,820 installed. I was previously quoting the air inlets.

They need to go to BMW NA and have the distribution manager manually add to your order.

If you cannot get it added, there are a few available through parts. I got a quote from my parts counter and wastl told it would take 7 days to get.

Thank you.

My car is at the port in California waiting for a recall fix with no ETA. My CA called BMW yesterday and asked about the suspension but has not received a call back. Hopefully the recall will allow enough time for them to sort the suspension upgrade out as Id really like to have it added now that I know it can be done.

The dealer wants $3k for install on top of suspension price which I am not going to do.

Thanks for this info. My car is stuck at port for a strut tower recall, and because of the delay and the info I provided from you, they have added the suspension to my build. Thank you and everyone who posted on this thread!

Jesus. Lol. You can definitely order the parts yourself and find a reputable performance shop to install them for about the same price BMW charges to add it to the car at port. It just won't be officially on the sticker.

Or covered under the car's warranty (if port installed).

Correct. It’s 4 years if port installed. 2 years if dealership installed. 1 year for just parts.
