Supersprint Exhaust | M2 G87

Hi guys, hope you are enjoying your beasts 😎

Today I went thru the run in service, and now I feel pretty much free to mess around with the car 😁 First thing I gonna touch is the exhaust which, especially in Europe with the OPFs, is quite muted. Given that I live in Italy, my first choice is always going to be Supersprint 😉 I know the company very well, it was my childhood dream to put one of their masterpieces on my car (I can still remember the advertising they were doing on one of the most famous car magazines, an orchestra playing their pipes &#128514. And I already had their exhaust on my Lotus Exige 350 Sport - Quality was incredible, sound obviously as well!

Supersprint has now the exhaust available on the website:

https://www.supersprint.com/ww-en/sp...87-m2-opf.aspx

Next Monday (26th) I’m going to drop the car at their place and figure out which setup is best for me.

Secondary cats and OPF most likely will stay in place (since I don’t want to remap / work on the electronics right now), but I am keen to remove the resonator and change the rear exhaust. Eventually also catted downpipes. We’ll see. I will stimulate them to maybe drop some content with their midpipe, maybe that could be interested for you guys in America 😁I will also share some pictures.

Anyone of you has experience with Supersprint on BMW (S55-S58)? Would be happy to hear your opinion!

HI, can you please take some pictures of the stock exhaust? I saw a lot of pictures of the US model, but none of the EU version. I am not sure if we have 2 cats, then 2 OPFs and the back box. Is there anything else between the OPF and the back box?

Hi! Yes. Actually the setup is:
- 2 600 cells ceramic downpipe
- 2 metallic cats
- 2 OPFs
- 1 resonator
- backbox

🥲

I’ll shoot some photos, but it should be very similar to the G82, I attach one photo.

I talked to the engineer and he said they do not offer this solution as “standard” like Aulitzky or Akra, because a lot of customer order it and do the work on their own; the cut point after the OPFs has to be precisely done, or there are firment issues. But if it works well on mine, they will for sure provide it for others that might be interested

I was impressed by the amount of customization they are able to do and the quality of the finishes.

By the weekend I will be able to pick-up the car and I will tell you!

I have had good experiences with Supersprint, both in terms of product quality and pre and after sales service.
The exhausts are quite expensive though, especially the valved mufflers.

Agree. Rear muffler is at the same level of G-Power and MANHART. Downpipes have a steep price point compared to the competition. But I believe if you reach out directly to them (or stop by in Mantova), they treat you extremely well (at least they did with my Exige and also this time). And then, when you see the craftsmanship and personalizations they are able to do, it kind of justifies everything

What is the diameter of the SS pipes? 70mm or 76mm?

I am quite sure it is 70mm, but I will let you know the next days. They’ll keep me posted on the development

Bear in mind that we have OPFs, with the same setup yours would be louder.

Yes!! I need to stimulate the guys at SS, they have them for sure.

I will try to upload a quick one I did last week on YouTube, not sure I’ll be able to since it is the first time 😃

What I can tell: the tone is much deeper thru the range and more aggressive at the high revs. So the increase is clearly noticeable. Still, for European cars, this should be factory setup, so I might put also some downpipes on. For US spec I believe it will make a bigger difference 😃

Sounds REALLY good, wow! Can you link me exactly which products you got from SS's website? They have a lot of different options it seems. And yes, without OPF's it'll probably sound even better, you're right.

I am satisfied, for me it is just fine like this. BTW drove around 700km and no CEL or any other light on the dash whatsoever (for EU cars some brands recommend a OPF deleter also for this setup). Attached the parts & number. If I was you I would just check with SS if it is valid also for US spec cars 😃

Supersprint Downpipes with 200 CPSI HJS Cats coming on Friday 😎 Hope no CEL. In theory, the cats are ECE approved and 99% they don’t throw any CEL on the dash.

I’ll let you know and put also some sound clips. This would then be the perfect setup for a “No CEL” setup without touching the software.

Stay tuned 😃

Interesting, I'm guessing the OPF really does a number on the volume of the exhaust because that sounds like a stock G87 over here. Once those are gone you're really going to open her up. Thanks for the updates too, it's nice to have a community that shares info.

OPFs are the killers of the sound. Initially I wanted to remap the car, so those would have certainly gone. But, as life goes, most likely next year I’ll have to relocate abroad, and therefore sell the car 😔 In that sense I’m trying to do just “reversible” stuff. Hope Downpipes make it sound stronger!
And thank you for the feedback, I am always happy to find some suggestions and experiences, so I try to do the same and share all the info I have 😃

So, here we go! Couldn’t wait and managed to get the DP on today

Car feels more responsive, sound has improved significantly. The tone is very deep at low revs and gets screamy at the top end. Above 3.000-3.500 rpm’s it drastically changes note and gets very aggressive. Made around 250km of spirited driving, no CEL 🙏🏻

Absolutely LOVE IT!

I uploaded some very random shorts (sorry for the very bad video quality, hopefully you enjoy the audio) 😃
