Another ripping video from Jackie, this time with stripped rear interior, and testing various wheel/tire combos. Loving the progress!

It's excellent to see what this platform can do with the stock S58. Before the power adder get put into the mix. This car is going to be quick with another 120-150 HP / TQ later on down the road...

Did anyone catch details of the VS-5RS wheel/offsets/spacer combo? 305 square on OEM suspension is a game changer for the track.

This car has enough power and needs more grip and obviously a severe diet.
If I were to do this new platform i would opt for an 18x11.5 315 square set. Yes that would require suspension, possibly front brake caliper/rotor swap, camber plates and alignment of -3.7’ish to -4

Then the Gods of Grip will flourish

Unfortunately Apex doesn't make bigger than 11" wheels for BMW.
And 315 is best on 11.5" like you said.
Compared to the 305, it yields little improved surface contact patch on a 11".

So 11", go with 305. 11.5", go with 315. And 12" go with 325.
Those are the optimal pairs.

Still kool to see but now that it's gutted / stripped you lose a little of that attainability (?) for the average owner.

Don't get me wrong, it's still kool as hell.

Oh for sure! Finishing up my 1969 Trans Am Camaro, motor is out and being re-built ..NASCAR like with dry sump. Nothing sexier than a vintage race car with a high revving short stroke v8 motor on the track. No Nannie’s, no fat turd (modern cars) just man and machine.

I'm running 295 square on 19x10 et12, from my observation you would need 19x10.5 et10 wheels to run 305 without spacers but can't guarantee, a 11 inch wheel would need an offset or 8 or something.

Ppl told me my 10inch wheels would be too slim for 295 but it's really tire dependent, the Conti Force extrême I installed fit very well and drive awesome.

Those Pilot Sport 4S ⭐️tires were codeveloped by Michelin and BMW, and are far superior in compound vs the Cup 2… Doesn’t surprise me they’re that much better on track

Yes!! Time to buy an open face helmet so you can burn some Marlboro Reds while lapping.
