Oh gosh, not much, $3K, 4 days, Navarre, done. We can afford to go to the Maldives (at a stretch), which is my personal dream, but we just can't justify it.

Don't fucking start me, wife is absolutely mother fucking killing me. We just went to NY for staggering $8K CDN for 5 days (including travel) and now wants to go to BC for 10 days and my math says it will run us about $12K.
Losing my god damn mind. |

We just did 15 days in Hawaii that included a 7 day cruise, a condo on Kauai (pre-cruise), a corner room in the Rainbow Tower at the Hilton Hawaiian Village (post-cruise), and first class air for just under $25k.
We are going to Alaska for 10 days next year and Australia and New Zealand for two weeks in 2025. Alaska will be about $20k and Australia and New Zealand will be $25-30k depending on air fare costs at that time. |

The math for me, these days, just is not worth it. We went to NY for 5 days, if I take out the two travel days it was $2500 a day. This trip to BC will be $1600+ per day.
Per fucking day. Honestly nowhere is worth that to me, wife will disagree but it just isn't. Booking a local cottage, split with another family, for $2K a week (each), is way, way more relaxing and enjoyable, i legit mean that. Why am i spending $13K when i can spend $2k? Makes zero fucking sense. |

1 main trip which I try to keep under 5k, maybe 1-2 smaller ones under 2k. Vacations can completely eat you alive financially and if you're a stickler about getting the most value out of each dollar, it's really hard to make it seem worth it at the end. Especially with kids.
And the most expensive trips seem to be right here in my own country. Everything is expensive and everything is a fee. |

Can't say I keep track of how much my vacations costs, especially since they are typically off the cuff shorter trips now days. Back when I worked an office job my vacation would usually be a week in Mexico or DR at some all inclusive and typically $2k-$4k all in.
After traveling around in the RV for a couple of years... the thought of traveling any other way just exhausts me. Some friends are going to Greece in September and we have been looking at stuff to join them, but what a pita. Flights, hotels, travel arrangements from place to place... ugh. Probably wont go. We did go to Spain in like 2017 or 2018. Flight was super cheap like $500 round trip for each of us. We rented a car and drove around for like 2 weeks and booked hotels as we went. Can't imagine we spent more than a couple grand. We also do big family trips with my family and my gfs family every couple of years. Those typically aren't much either as we rent an Airbnb and split it among 15 people or so. Ends up being pretty reasonable. I'm also not a fancy guy so not really into Ritz Carlton type fru fru places. |

We haven't had any vacation options that didn't involve driving and OCD psycho dog friendly hotels for over a decade now. Last year, we burned about 4,500 miles worth of diesel fuel and 8 hotel nights. (Don't tell Alfisti that my entire vacation spend for all of 2022 was less than one day in NYC for him.)
I'm looking forward to having the almost mighty Freightliner capable of overnighting at our lakeside South Carolina tree farm in the fall, to save a few hotel nights next time that we go down there.....

I tried to talk her out of it all day, even gave her license to go somewhere alone to unwind for a week but alas... we're going to BC.
