M Performance Height-Adjustable Suspension - Port Setup and Alignment

Since folks keep asking for it randomly, I’ve attached the alignment report for how my G87 was set up from the port with the optional M Performance Height Adjustable Suspension ($2,880).

How do you like the 10mm drop? Is it too subtle or just right? From the BMW recommendation it sounds like the ride should not suffer at that height. I wonder if just a tad more like 15mm would still ride as well.

Looks perfect to my eyes. I don’t plan on going lower because of the road conditions in Colorado.

Looks good. Natural enough like it should have come that way oem.

Agree. The stock ride height is a tad much.

I am confident that you have answered this elsewhere, but how is the ride quality?

Pretty good all things considered. Not as harsh as my previous RS5 and Camaro SS 1LE, but not as smooth as the G42 M240i - which makes sense.

Did any of those cars have aftermarket springs/adjustable suspensions?

Nope. They were all stock.

Are you able to compare to stock, meaning do you remember test driving a car before ordering yours? Wondering how it’d compare in terms of ride quality but I think it’s hard to do without doing a back to back drive the same day to get the best feel.

I wish I had a definitive answer. The only other G87 I’ve driven was a demo car with 70 miles on it. I don’t think the tires or the suspension were closed to being settled, at all. I’m very sensitive to ride quality and to the best of my recollection, this doesn’t feel noticeably harsher than that HEA car.

How'd you get the alignment report? Did you have to ask for it specially, or was it just presented with the new car paperwork?

Thanks.

It was in the glovebox with the spring adjustment tools.

Any non-HAS G87 owners in the NYC Tri-state want to test drive our cars back to back to help our fellow forumites, I’m down. Drop me a line.

Seems they lowered the rear by 12mm and the front driver side by 11mm (which is normal since the weight of the driver will sag it a bit) and lowered the passenger side by 13mm. That's more than a 10mm drop. Camber isn't within the target range but maybe that's because the HAS uses slightly different settings than the stock suspension.

Congrats! DM me when you’re ready. Depending on your availability maybe we could roll out to Philly and rcouchh could do a photoshoot to go with the write-up. That could help with your break-in too.

To all getting the MP HAS Port Installed, strongly request via Center’s NA rep that the KDS is included with your vehicle’s paperwork and left INSIDE the car with the Wrenches.

I’m STILL trying to get my car set to spec.

This is the latest I’ve received:

“Good morning, yes alignment machine is updated but we're still waiting to hear from BMW to verify the standard specs on that M sport suspension for clarification. We have checked the case on your vehicle today but still nothing. As soon as they get back to us I will keep you updated.”
