I want a video of g42 m240 vs g87 m2
Surprised no one has made this video yet theres 100 videos of g42 and 100 videos of g87 but I have yet to see drag race or roll race with these 2 amazing cars, I know there’s a lot of people on here who want to see this as bad as I do,I live in north east pa if anyone has new m2 near me this would make a great video.

Pretty much this exactly..
With XDrive and the better lower end torque from the B58, the M240 will launch much better from a dig. The S58 on the other hand has more torque and HP on the higher end, it’s built to be revved out so it would pull ahead when traction is not an issue. I’d don’t believe the M2 would seriously gap the M240, but it would definitely make up some ground from a roll |

There’s already videos of the M2 vs the RS3, and the M240 vs the RS3. Watch both and you may find what you’re looking for.
Ive driven both and I love the B58, but the S58 is a monster and in a different league. No question. |

I've had cars that were amazing on the track, and cars that would dominate most from a highway roll. Turns out I'm not a fan of the track (that's my son's gig), and the speeds reached on highway rolls are go-to-jail speeds. The short digs from lights, 0-50 or 70 mph, are more exciting for me, and probably less dangerous.
This is what makes me love the M240i xDrive! There's many many cars out there that will hang with a M2 on a highway roll, but very few that will hang with a M240i xDrive from a dig (I'm sitting at low 3's 0-60). So to say the M2 is a beast or a monster compared to the M240, and in a whole different league, is simply owner ego. If the little brother can easily beat the "monster" or "beast" in a dig, and in the 1/8th, and maybe even the 1/4, then are descriptions like monster, beast, and whole different league really accurate? |

I do not own an M2 (yet). I felt exactly the same way as you, until I drove my friend’s S58 M4. Then more recently I got to drive another buddy’s G87. Believe me, it’s night and day…. I sincerely suggest you drive one before forming a firm opinion. The B58 is feels tame and controlled, while impressive with its output. The S58 feels so much different, like riding a bull. I promise launching it will make you smile. That being said, OP was about racing these 2 cars, not 0-60 lol. The G87 dusted the RS3 in the quarter mile. The RS3 bests the G42 in the same setting. Note - if all i cared about was 0-60 from a dig, I would have picked up a Model 3 P. |

So two cars lining up at a light and doing a drag race to 60 or 70 is not a race? Got it. As far as who wins 0-60, 1/8th and 1/4? Sorta depends on the day and the author. Different results from Motor Trend, Car and Driver, BMW Blog, you, me, John, and Mary... And the M2 "dusted" the RS3 in a 1/4 mile? Ok The point here is even if the M2 beats the M240 in 0-60 (), 1/8th (), and 1/4 (), it's never by much, and certainly not enough to claim "night and day". To take it a step further, the more you mod each one the more the advantage goes to the M240 in drag races up to the 1/8th. And if you've got a M2 manual... From BMW Blog and another website quoting Car and Driver and Motor Trend... |

Have you driven a G87 or any S58 vehicle? Your also comparing a RWD to an Xdrive from a dig at the stoplight to 60/70, and you said little brother “easily” handles it. So that millisecond defines “easily” accurately, but me saying the G87 “dusted” the RS3 is a crime. Lol If the RWD G87 bested the AWD RS3 , can it best the Xdrive M240? Maybe we do need a head to head video lol |

If anyone here has a M240 and lives on Long Island, I'm willing to take a trip out east to Mexico to line them up. I'll bring my draggy and my camera and make a video for everyone.

The only car I've lined up with that wanted to play was a new 911 Turbo S. I've never been so proud of my car for losing, as I managed to stay on his back tire and a little behind his rear bumper up to about 70 and I let off and he was gone! I wasn't sure he'd do anything when the light turned green, so my reaction came after his reaction. At the next light he rolled down his window and waved and I told him he's driving my dream car! |

Freeport sold my M240i 7 days after I traded it in, so there's another one running around somewhere. I know of a few running around on Long Island. Never seen one in the m2 though. |

Here’s mine. This is without a downpipe or the 19 lb Apex wheels. I plan on updating it when it’s not 108 outside. Based on the 1/8 to 1/4 conversion chart, this should be about 11.65 seconds in the 1/4. Last edited by XC3LLR8; 07-20-2023 at 07:29 PM.. |
