A dumb question about wheels in the trunk
In my E90, with the rear seats folded down, there is zero problem hauling a full spare set of wheels to a tire place or whatever.
My dumb question is: can I carry 4 full tires in the G87? My intuition is "probably not," but I don't have a spare set of tires to experiment with. Specifically, I'm concerned about two sizes: 1. the stock two 19/275s and two 20/285s 2. a square setup, let's assume all 19/275s My faint hope is that I can put three tires flat in the back and put one in the passenger seat, but that seems dicey. Anyone actually tried it yet? |

With the seats down you can fit 2 in the back seats and one in the trunk. The 4th would have to go on the front seat.
You could technically fit 3 tires upright in the back seat but I am not sure how you would get the 3rd in there without damaging something. |

Thank you. Does a single front wheel fit in the trunk with the seats up? I’m trying to decide if I’d carry the Modern Spare or an extra front wheel as a spare tire in long trips.

That’s something I’ll miss about the E90. With the back seats folded down I could easily fit all four of my track wheels stacked two by two. Then tools and a floor jack in the trunk.

This is a great question. I'm also planning to bring my track setup to the track and drive there and home on the stock wheels. I figured that if you remove the seat back in the rear that "should" give you enough space. Im looking to run square 19x10.5 275, max in my TA class. Hope I can fit some tools as well But still waiting for my car to get built.

Yes. I did it today. Lots of tools, a jack, a folding chair, and a foam pad.

One small bit of advice:
Get those tire-rack wheel bags. It makes it tons easier to lift and slide them into the trunk and back seat areas. Half of the struggle is just manipulating the bulky wheels into the nooks. The nylon covers make it much easier. Not to mention that it will protect the interior from some levels of scuffs. |

Ha! I was just coming to ask this question!
So looks like, yes, you can get a full set of track wheels / tires in the car. Won’t be stylish but get some fancy M Perf tire bags and go full send at the track! |
