Exhaust flaps

Hi
When in sport+ does the exhaust flap open fully, or are the dynamic after how much throttle and so on you give?

They actually never open fully on the stock system (I think the stock max is @85%). You will need to get an aftermarket kit to be able to have them fully/100% open.

No.
The only possible way would be to crack the DME and tune the car.

Or get the aftermarket controller as M_Power Rob mentioned

Very easy to just remove the rotating piece in the flap system and lock it open. Takes 20 mins and then you'll have 100% open all the time.

Hi! They are never fully opened sadly.

I ordered the RX1 of asr-components the other day. Installation is not that easy, but my workshop will figure out

No error codes, just raw sound. It was pretty loud upon cold starts in the morning, but once the idle normalized, it was civil.

I'll try my best to do a quick and easy write up. Might be a little difficulty since i no longer have the car, but I still have the flap parts!

Gimme a couple days and I'll send something over

Thought I read somewhere that it still throws codes in the ECU, but you just don't get a check engine light.

Can you confirm ?

I did the fuse trick today, warmed up, sport+, checked valves open, pulled F203 and voila, sport+ sound all the time! This is honestly the best thing I did to my car so far

I dont like the sport+ throttle response, its just too much and harder to modulate, the active sound in cabin is too boomy. Now I can enjoy sport mode with + flaps and efficient with + flaps too! Its awesome, I was surprised how much I could hear the exhaust now even in the cabin on efficient cruising around town, actually felt the pipse rumble under my seat.

My missus wont be super happy but thats the best thing about fuse, I can put it back on long trips super easily! no need to reinstall the valve control module (or rather, 2 of them) or get some controller.

Keep in mind this is still not 100% open. This just keeps them open the sport+ (80%?) amount even when in comfort etc. You'd need to to the steel wire trick or have an after market option to have them fully open.

yeah i checked the right pipe and its partially open, but its OK for now as i dont have to hide any wires and its much easier to reinstate.

My G87 should be here any day, but on my F90, I can push my M1 button before starting with it programmed to Sport +, and it starts with the valves open. Is that not possible with the G87?

Yes you can do that on the G87 too but no matter what buttons you press, the valve never fully opens

Diana’s is actually more ,
https://autocouturemotoring.com/prod...-g80-m3-g82-m4
All of the valve controllers on the market serve the same purpose, open and close the valve.

I too wonder why Gucci is more expensive the LV I thought they were the same too.

I get your point but LV is, in general, more expensive than Gucci.

I dont think my Valvetronic controller is any different than those mentioned here. Serves and performs the same service and function. Only difference in mine came with the exhaust.

I was looking at the official Dinan site. If they are truly the same, Dinan is a no brainer IMO.
