Remote Engine Start

When using remote start on the M3C (via triple click of lock button on the key), is there a way to keep the engine running before driving away?

i.e. when I get into my car after remote start, the engine is running but I can't put the car into drive without turning the engine off, and then back on again.

I couldn't find the answer to this question anywhere on these forums.

Anyone have a fix or the same complaint?

Press your brake pedal before pushing the start button, car stays on.

Oh. Brilliant. Thanks! Felt like that would turn the engine off but it makes sense.

I literally never noticed what the screen said when I got in the first time. lol.
Another thing if ya'll have encountered this, I remote started. Never got in. Walked around for quite a bit of time going over exterior with an onlooker who was interested...probably did spend quite a bit if time. Car turned itself off.

On previous cars all you needed to do was hit the start button so I get where the OP was coming from.

After doing the remote start on the m3 I just hit the start button and it shut off I was like wtf?

Then next time I did it I saw the message on gauge cluster and I was like oh lol

My car starts after I hit the button three times, but always shuts off after.

The remote start is on a 15 minute timer. Pretty much any vehicle with a remote start will shut off after 15 minutes of idle.

I did NOT know that. I use remote start all the time but I don’t wait long.
