The AUTOID G87 M2 Build Thread

We've been working on this for a while now, and I am so excited to finally see this car complete and in the flesh.

The TR87 kit has been a labour of love. The F87 M2 was what got AUTOID started. Back in 2016, when that car launched, we didn't have the opportunity to do the ground up development we dreamed of. TRE has opened a lot of doors and things are a little different now and it's been awesome sweating over the details of this.

The kit transforms the car, it really does. Business bias aside, its genuinely a showstopper now. I’ve driven maybe 200-300 miles around town with the car and people are stopping, taking photos, asking what car it is, how fast is it, what have I done to it etc. It looks and feels like you’re driving something special. I think the wing plays a big part in that. If you go for the spoiler, I think you’ll go a bit more under the radar.

The team and I have made a video installing the kit, that takes you through everything and is worthwhile watching if you’re considering refining your G87 M2.

Our resident photographer (@Rtwenty3) was away during the install, so we got the equally talented @crsxe to come down and capture it. Worth checking him out, his got a very clean F87 build and a heavy right food – lots of sideways action on his Instagram.

Below is a little gallery of images we got, along with the video of the install. Fire any questions you might have below. I am going to keep this thread up to date going forward with the rest of the build, as we are now well on our way with this car with loads more developments to come. P.s. I also added some of the comparisons of the renders vs the reality. Did this for my own interest as I thought it was cool to see.

I could never pull it off, but now I wish I could.

Holy VGA camera phone! Some nice pieces for sure. I think the all black hides the body lines some complain about, meaning a good way to sway the naysayers.

That isn't focus, that is over compression/shrunk and expanded images. (Eg uploading a thumbnail instead of the high res or over compression by bimmerpost)

Despite the misaligned pixels, these photos still tell a compelling story: this car is fantastic. Thanks for sharing!

PS. Since VGA was mentioned earlier, does anyone remember CGA?

The car looks amazing ive seen the youtube video, but in my opinion i prefer the smaller spoiler that you guys installed first

Damn you guys are ruthless when it comes to photos, the guy was probably pretty happy with the set.

This is the angle for me, which is saying something as the back is the most challenging visually for me as standard.
