Possible Trade in for CS
I have a opportunity to get the new M3 CS in my area for around 10k markup, which I think is fairly low. I am a bit conflicted because It would be my daily driver and I currently have a Jahre edition m3. Is it worth it to trade in my Jahre for the CS?

I guessing that the delta between what they're offering you for a trade of your current car and what they're asking for on the CS means you'll pay about double your trade in value.
The CS looks to be a very cool, special M3... but it wouldn't be worth double to me, so I would not do that trade.

No.
As a daily, it's going to be more difficult to live with, the performance improvement is certainly not going to be noticeable as you are sitting in traffic or just driving down the Interstate, and the resale will kill you, as no one is going to pay much of a premium for the CS after it's been treated as a normal car for several years (i.e. has a bunch of miles). Unless you have the money to burn and just want the latest and greatest. In that case, yeah, go for it!

I paid a $10k mark up on a M3CS in June and just sold my F90 yesterday at ask. Couldn't be happier! As my CA said, you could take the new CS now, wait 6-9 months for an allocation or buy one from one of the enthusiasts who likely opened up the DME. The ADM was worth it to me. And $10k over my avg 4 year ownership life is a rounding error at worst!
And for those saying the cup holder is preventing you from driving a CS, that's insane. I never take both hands off the wheel it's so much fun to drive!!

I will use mine as a daily driver in Bavaria, including Bavarian winters. Yes, the front spoiler could be an issue and an expensive one but this just means I have to pay attention and be careful. If you want the car and you can afford it...why not, get it. If not, well...not. |

They gave me a good trade in amount for my car.I had it for 9 month had 1717 miles on it MSRP was $99K and they gave me $90k with the tax savings it was more like $96k. I Paid a $10k ADM for the CS but I got the car I wanted and I am happy with it,so if it makes you happy go for it YOLO. |

I actually passed on the Jahre for a CS….which I am still waiting for lol.
If your trade in value checks out and the delta you have to pay is acceptable to you, go for it - it is a no brainer…. |

I have a fire orange Jahre, I had an opportunity to get a CS at MSRP and passed on it. First, I’m not a big fan of the colors for the CS, besides signal green non of the colors pop. Second, I enjoy going to cars and coffee a few times a month and with no cup holders that was a bummer.

Since the CS might be your daily driver be sure to go to your dealer and actually sit in the carbon bucket seats. Better to be sure they are right for you before you make a switch.

I think it comes down to whether or not you will daily drive the car. The CS is definitely not a daily driver, no matter how much people here will try to convince you.
If you're somewhat put off by the things it lacks that make daily driving better in a car like an M3, then I would avoid it. If you really won't care, you're in the vast minority of people who consider this car (IMO) and you should get it. |
