G87 dimension questions, jack point spread?

Hey yall

I am trying to figure out the distance between side jack points on the G87 and cannot seem to find ANY documentation whatsoever on that.

I have found the BMW site with dimensions, showing vehicle length (4580mm) and wheel clearance (2747mm) but no jack point spread.

I am trying very hard to figure out if the Quickjack 6000 ELX (which is just barely long enough for the G80s) will also fit the G87 as well. My 7000TLX work but are about 6 inches too short for the other G80s.

I sold my 5000 for the 7000 only to find it doesnt fit the new M3s and M4s lengthwise which drives me insane. If I sell the 7000 for the longer 6000, I need to make sure it fits EVERYTHING.

Thanks!

1670mm centre to centre, or 1740mm from front edge of front block to back edge of back block.

SWEET.. so if I read that right, that is 65.7 inches, or well within the 53" (min) – 76" (max) range of the 6000 ELX. That means the ELX should work for both the G87 and the much longer G80s... FANTASTIC!

Just love it when someone answers the question precisely and completely.

Well done sir. I too am considering buying a 6000.

Approx 66” … and it looks like my 7000 won’t work either

Guess it’s 4 jack stands for me or I have to try to use the quick jacks in a 90 degree fashion.

The 7000 TLX will work but guessing you have the TL?

This is good news….

Aww damn, that means my trusty ol' 5000 SLX won't work!

I could get the extensions, but I'm not sure if the added height would be a problem. Ugh, I guess I'll wait for my car to arrive then see.

Yep I learned today that my 7000 TL won't work. Grrrrr.
I think that I will sell it because even with extensions it won't work on my G16.

Has anyone used a 6000 ELX with a G87 yet? When overlaying the dimensions of the QuickJack frame onto the G87 spec it looks like a pretty close fit. While it does seem like the extended frame will just fit between the tires and hit the jack points, it would be great to get some first hand confirmation.

I would love to see this as well.. probably will sell my 7000s for the 6000 if we can confirm it fits.

Have convinced myself via the wonders of CAD that it fits with a few inches to spare. Planning to purchase the 6000ELX this week as HD currently has it on sale, but I won't have a car to verify for another 4+ weeks.

Do you have the extension rails for the 5000?
They might be long enough that way, but you will lose some height clearance.

I do not, but with Costco taking returns no questions asked I just returned and ordered the 6000

Extension rails do not make it long enough sadly, only 6000 fits g87.
