B58 Supra 6MT vs G87 6MT (shifter and throw feel)

Hi all,

I have watched quite a few reviews of the manual B58 Supra vs G87 manual and they have all said that the shifts are better in the Supra. I have read that Toyota did want to improve the manual shifter feel in the Supra and looks like they have achieved just that from the few reviews I have watched.

Has anyone worked out what changes that Toyota had made to the Supra manual and whether these can be fitted to the G87 manual?

Would be great to hear more from anyone who has spent time in both of the 6MT cars

I would only recommend the AS Shifter, or a CAE if you want to go all in.

There are multiple threads on the F87 boards regarding the AS unit.

Probably one of the top 3 mods you can do to the car.

I’ve been wondering the same thing myself. Hopefully someone will figure it out and make a retrofit kit available.

I’m not too confident in the AutoSolutions shift kit. Way too many choices/variables and it has to be custom ordered. I kind of just want one solution that has been sorted out.
