How to get the highest resale price for New 930M wheels & tires?

Waiting on an allocation and am next in line. Looking to get 1000M wheels however will be stuck with the stock 930M wheels too which I want to sell and won't have any miles on them because plan to have the dealer mount the 1000Ms before I pick up the car.

Any recommendations on getting the most for the stock set? Annoying the wheels go for $800+ per wheel but people selling sets get a fraction of the value.

I did the exact same. Which wheel do you have? the full black or bicolour?

will you be using the tires on the 1000M wheels? and selling the rims without tires?

Waiting to hear what people have to say.

You did exactly what OP is describing? Can’t imagine that many people are doing it. What was your result?

No. Was trying to figure out if I should keep the stock wheels and tires and have them when I eventually sell the car or get rid of them.

Will probably keep them and instal to sit over the winter.

Going all black on the 930M but would do bicolor if had a buyer lined up. And yes fully aware the tires on the 930M don't fit the 1000M wheels.

I don't like the tires that come with 1000M package so planning on buying the wheels separately and buying tires from the dealer.

Should make it easier for them to mount them and get them on the car. What I mean is less fuss from the dealer on that end.

Wish I didn't have to take the 930M wheels at all, since the value on them with tires is high but resale from what I've seen so far is trash.

If anyone is interested they would be untouched and would be Feb/March ETA at NY Hudson Valley Dealer.

What don’t you like about the tires on the 1000M?

Prefer the Michelin PS4S over the Yokohama Advan Sport V107E which come with 1000M if purchased as a set, mounted and ready to go.

Starting to also toy with the 826M wheels as they appear to match the 930M size offset, etc. and imo look a ton better. With those I could swap tires and TMPS and only be stuck with only wheels for sale. Discussing this route with a friend who works for BMW NA as Service Manager. No idea if the 1000M will cause tramlining which I've dealt with on my old E46 m3. Perhaps that's behind BMWs choice of tires, idk.

Since it sounds like you're trying to recoup/save as much as possible... The dealer is NOT going to be the best deal for tires. You're better off getting those delivered from Tire Rack or any other online vendor.

I was actually told my a friend who works for BMW Corp. NA as a Service manager and works with dealers all over the east that dealers' tire pricing is extremely close to Tirerack, +- a few dollars.

That said, I've made up my mind on 827M wheels so I can swap the tires & TPMS from the stocks.

That’s not true. Last year I needed to replace a rear tire on one of my M240i. The price from the dealer in Scottsdale was a few dollars less than one of the largest tire houses in the country, Discount Tires.

Of course resale won’t be anywhere near new MSRP prices on used parts, even if they are practically new. Realistically you might 50% of what the wheels and tires are new, if there’s buyers.

Once wheels are off the car and ready for sale, post on this forum (local section), Craigslist and Facebook marketplace. If you want the highest price for them, start asking price high (maybe 75% of new) and reduce by $100 every 2 weeks or whatever interval you want until they are sold at a price you’re ok with.

Glad to hear my experience hasn't been the norm then. I didn't know tire pricing was standardized across the country for dealerships. Maybe the price gouging is a FL thing... Then again, I don't use the dealership for anything but warranty work, and ordering new cars.

Ya i got the Yoko's with my set. Not happy at all. They have terrible grip on acceleration and hard cornering. I have the 19/20 track Pilot Sport 4s on the original wheels. I might buy a new Michelin set in the spring to fit the 20/21 inch rims
