steering feel changing after lowering?

Yesterday I had Eibach springs and bimmec spacers installed on my 23 g42 (kit was purchased from autoID). Fitment was perfect and this truly is the way the car should have come from factory. It completely changed the look, if you guys are on the fence about throwing some springs on you should totally do it.

Anyway now on to my question, it could just be placebo but when I started driving home from the shop it felt like the steering in the car was much heavier than it was before (no complaints here, the light steering and basically 0 feedback you received through the wheel were my only complaints with the car in my 7 months of ownership). Does lowering a car/ putting wheel spacers on it change the weight of the steering? or is it just placebo?

Did you have it realigned yet? I think lowering it without alignment would add toe-in which on paper should make it feel a tiny bit heavier. Maybe.

Good catch this could definitely be it, I didn't get it aligned yet because for 1 the shop couldn't do it, their machine couldn't calibrate to the 23 so I have to go to bmw directly for that, and 2 I wanted to let the springs settle for a week or two before I got it aligned. If this is the case I'm hoping the steering stays the way it is now after it is aligned hahahah

I suspect it was the spacers that changed things the most, as it changed the scrub radius of the wheel. I don't know much about it, but this guy does:

Then this guy discusses more aspects of alignment.

Absolutely zero steering feel change for me with Eibach springs and spacers.

+1 for the alignment suggestion.
