Need help - Hood release cable broke!

The hood release cable on my ‘13 128i broke this weekend, where the front and rear cables join together in that little black plastic, rectangular housing on the right side of the engine bay. Can anyone advise on how I can release the hood latch now at this point? Pull the front grills out somehow and then is there an access hole?

Thanks in advance!!!

If I remember correctly you can get to the cable from inside the wheel well on the driver side (not 100% sure). Probably wouldn't hurt to pull the grille first and try to get to it with some long needle nose pliers.

Same happened to me. The shop I took it to pulled off one of the grilles to release the latch.
