got my VIN on my G80 yesterday for Christmas delivery, now what mods?

I’m going to start with appearance and sound. So ceramic tint all windows… but what springs (car won’t be tracked) and what exhaust setup? I’m thinking just down pipe and midpipe with stock muffler? Sound quality is SUPER IMPORTANT TO ME.

I dont think I’m going to flash tune the car, likely will go with a jb4 (I’m fine with 700+ crank hp), ethanol mix, and perhaps a supplementary fuel it port injection system in the future.

Congrats!

The car sounds great with just a midpipe with secondary cat delete. No need to delete your primary cat with the downpipe. Here's what my PSI Midpipe sounds like.

If you're going for 700hp, I'd recommend some Cup2's for grip. The MPS4S are great, but the Cup2s are phenomenal.

Skip the springs and go full coilover or a HAS setup so you can dial in your height exactly how you want it.

Thank you. What midpipe? Equal length dual? Single? Would you go with downpipes with high flow cats too?

Thanks

I have the PSI Non-Resonated and I think it's just the right amount of aggressive tone without the drone. It's a high-flow X pipe.

I chose not to get a tune to stay under warranty, so a high flow catted downpipe was not an effective cost-to-performance mod for me. Most of my mods are for handling and braking.

Congratulations!

Why not drive it for a while before making any mods? Remember that if you decide to sell you will get nothing for the mods unless you find the right person who wants your mods. You will most likely lose money with mods if selling to a dealer. Many of us plan to keep our cars for years but you never know what life events may force you to sell it.

I put 20k into a 697 RWHP Corvette and lost all of it. 10k into my X3MC and lost all of it. Unless you are OK removing all mods prior to selling just keep the above in mind.

It’s a legitimate question and I’m sure you mean mechanical mods, because I’m not sure tinting the windows qualifies to wait it out. Anyhow, the appearance mods will be done, no question and the sound too. I’ve heard enough clips to know the s58 sounds subpar especially coming from a b58 abd s85. As for resale, that’s a much lesser concern than happiness with a still good margin of reliability .

No, window tint, ppf will not be mods that may lose you money. Appearance mods are fine . Removing the midpipe, changing exhaust, adding an intake may but you need to make it how you want it to be. Just wanted to ensure you were aware of possible downsides to going crazy with mods. Your car so have fun!

Lol, I guess so. I just want to do what makes me happy. Resale value is a few notches below that on my list 🤷‍♂️

Yeah I’ll dd for 6-7 years then give it to son 1 or 2. Don’t care about resale. At that time I’ll be late 60s and may go Macon

It's crazy anyone could buy these cars with resale value in mind lol. This is a pure vain fun car to buy, spend money on it and have fun! At least that's what I'm doing! I'm going mainly all cosmetics currently. I'm indecisive so performance mods take me a bit to pick, lol.

Lol. If your care about resale, buy a P car. Not a 4 series BMW. Like you said. Mod it, beat the shit out of it and enjoy it.
