Betalink? Spolier install

The parts dude swore I needed it. Told him no, ended up discounting it to cost so I didn’t “lose my spoiler”. Do I have to use it or can I stick to 3m auto tape? I see 99% of folks using 3m.

Awesome ty! did you have any issues with seepage? Never used the product before and everyone is saying if you fuck it up, you are fucked.

A special cleaner comes in the box with the betalink so if the glue is still „wet“ there is no problem to clean it

Betalink is essentially epoxy, it'll take the paint with it if you want to remove the lip later down the road.

3M VHB is all you need, make sure you prep the surface properly.

The M Performance spoiler doesn't have pre-attached tape? As Tom @ EAS says, the right 3M tape works fine. Had my F82 spoiler attached with it for 9 years and 52k miles at speeds up to 130 with no issues. Using the Prep Wipe is essential for the best bond. This is a good installation video: https://help.autoid.co/en-US/tre---b...--video-285483

I've never had any trouble with my spoiler "flying away" with just 3M tape...and this is based on multiple cars. Prep the surface properly, apply enough tape and you'll be fine.

You must not be driving fast enough. Go the right speed, not only will your spoiler fly off but wheel center caps and valve stem caps will fly off, as well.

This exactly plus 3M adhesive promoter with a heat gun. You'll have hell of a time if you ever want to remove it. Besides a bad install causing fly aways is, bad design. The spoiler needs to contour to the surface within a couple millimeters, otherwise, you're not giving the tape a chance to do it's job.
