3K Mile Owner's Review of G87 M2 ... By a F87 M2 & G42 M240i Owner
![]() Featured on BIMMERPOST.com Overall impressions, I'm super happy with it. I do have some very honest feedback on it too. Hopefully I am fairly well qualified as I also currently own and drive a G42 M240i and F87 M2, and have a G82 M4 in our shop car garage. I have picked out bits I like, I dislike and then things we've changed. Also, keep in mind that I am not a car reviewer by any measure and do not claim to be. Have a watch, let me know if you agree or disagree. Always open to healthy debate ![]()

Just got my G87 2 weeks ago. In love. The way it looks, sounds and feels is sublime. I really don’t get a lot of the criticism, especially regarding drive and lack of AC controls. I truly don’t find it to be nearly as big of a deal as I had anticipated lol

I got mine in April. I coulld not agree more. The car gets criticism but it's an amazing car. Everyone who actually has one loves it. It's unbelievable how good it is.

Great vid thank you. Agreed the the F80 is an wild animal that can bite you, but that’s what makes it a thrill when you get to know it … newer GXX are more refined and good fun too.

Totally agree. Everyone that sees it in person is blown away at how it looks and sounds. Looks are subjective, but in person next to any other car it has presence.

Got mine a few weeks ago. I agree about the front bumper compared to the f87. Looks muscular but missing styling bits which the add ons help make it pop.

To me, it still stays an ugly fat cow. There's no clean design structure, everything seems to be improvised. I really do miss the eye-charming clean but strong looks of the F-Series.
Performance might be overwhelming, but (at least to me!) that's only half the story. But to all others, I wish you all the best and enjoy your time with the car! |

I completely hate BMW’s design direction at the moment, however, if I was going to buy a G series M it would be this. With the right color and after market mods, you can overcome the design deficiencies of the G87. That’s not true for much of what BMW is putting out today.
