Track Tire Pressure

I am taking my 330 down to Summit Point this weekend for some HPDE. Normally I would run a few PSI below the factory setting for track but with the insanely high PSI (36F, 42R) what PSI should I drop the tires to?

What pressures you run depend on how hard you are on tires, track temps, how much wear you're okay with, track layout, etc. I run RE-71RS and I start losing grip ~39psi, so I tend to go out at ~33-34psi on early sessions when track is still cold, then drop it down to ~31-32 as conditions warm up. I also set my pressures differently between the left/right depending on the track layout. For example, laguna seca (CCW layout) is mostly left turns, so passenger side tires get hit harder, so I would have those at 1psi lower than the left.

Exactly what Chris said above. It really is dependent on tires, track, and driving style. The only thing I can add is to try starting with tires at 31-33 psi cold and once they warm up to 36-38 psi hot, gauge to see how different you feel the car and your preference.

Tire temps should be regulated throughout the session but when you get it just right, you don’t have to worry as much considering you do a pace lap, hot lap, cool down lap.
