Prevent wing mirrors from *un* folding initially

Hey all, I searched but couldn't find an answer to this question: Just got the M2, and because the garage opening is a tighter one, is there a way (perhaps code) to prevent the wing mirrors from unfolding when you start the car? I dread the idea of forgetting they're out when pulling out.

When I was taking the delivery the guy taking it out of the showroom was able to fold the mirrors just as he got them to the doors so it would fit outside. It's definitely doable! I just don't know how.

Interested to find out!

Ok use the owners manual - Find this menu and adjust it.
Manual data is found here -Mirror position, saving, see Memory function pg104 - USA model owners manual online.

Folding mirrors in automatically
1. "MENU"
2. "Vehicle apps"
3. "Doors and windows"
4. "Lock/unlock"
5. "Fold mirrors on lock/unlock"

I should clarify: I don't want the mirrors to unfold when leaving the garage. I want them to stay folded so they easily clear the garage opening. I'm fine with them opening at some speed as some other cars do once one is out of the garage.

I think you were plenty clear in the initial post lol, just some people

I just checked and we still have this button in the M2; I will try it when I go out for a drive later today

I have not actually tried it, but I think there are some "automate habits" or some name like that in iDrive 8. Maybe that can be used to auto fold in/out as you arrive home?

It is under "Apps Menu", "All Apps", "Automate Habits". The rules can be set up there and can apply the same operation automatically to a specific geographic location.

According to the owner's manual they should stay folded until you get to 25mph.

Just to report back, now that I have more experience in the field. Indeed, when you manually (i.e. push the button) fold the mirrors prior to going into the garage, they do not automatically open when you leave the garage until you hit 25 mph.
