question on g87 m2 mods install pricing
I am located in the Ohio. Been getting quotes for springs ( non adjustable) install at over 4 different locations with prices easily over 1100 USD. That includes alignment.
Downpipe install is also about 1k usd. Are these cars not basically the same as g80s ? The posted price on the forums for those mods are much less for g80s. Or is the M2 harder because it's smaller in the engine bay (doubt it) |

I figured. This is ridiculous with some of these quotes.
I'll keep looking. Thank you. |

Both of those are relatively easy installs if you have the tools. Springs are harder than say pre assembled coil overs or other assemblies. As for the down pipes I haven’t done an s58 but I did do my b58 Supra and it was an hour job.
If you have the desire to learn, watch a couple YouTube videos and it shouldn’t be too bad.

I did my b58 as well which is why I am baffled. S58 looked more work for sure.

Springs are basically a full day of labor, meaning 5-8 hours. Depending on the shop rate, well, you do the math. Most shops these days are charging $150-225/hr. You're lucky if you find a performance shop charging $80-120 like they used to back in the 2010s.

Springs I get with the alignment like you said with modern day hourly wages. But the downpipes that's what I don't understand. And the shops make it sound like it's different from a G80

Get the BMW MP HAS.
Most dealers are charging $2,800 or so. Aftermarket HAS plus installation is easily that or more. It's the adaptive suspension that is proving more labor intensive than F87s. And there's no warranty coverage. In fact, BMW is denying warranty coverage on things like brake issues when aftermarket HAS is installed. Several YouTube videos are out on the issue. |

I negotiated with mine to get the HAS done and a bunch of OEM CF parts installed for $2,500 tax included. That is just the dealership labor, no parts. I went that route because of the warranty like you mentioned, but it's by far the most expensive route one could take. |

I found a genuine bmw shop here who hammered it out with downpipes all within 9 hours total. Warranty issue is understandable. Thanks for your input

Bring it to a traditional automotive repair shop with a tech that has at minimal some familiarity with aftermarket parts and you'll honestly see the job get done in 3 hours or less. |

Should be 2.5 -3 hours for downpipes.
