exhaust route

Looking to get a exhaust for my 24’ M2 I’m looking at the equal length active autowerks mid pipe which as of now sounds the best without the raspiness and sounds like it has some balls. Any recommendations with something similar maybe or the best route ?

The EL is more aggressive and sounds great for just a mid pipe. The single is an option too to save a bit of weight though is milder in tone and volume than the EL. They offer a valved axle back to up it even more over stock, or even a high flow down pipe option to complete it.

Thank you will check it out. Just going the simple route really nothing crazy no straight pipe or burble little obnoxious for me.

Do you recommend any axel-backs to pair with the AA EL mid? Ideally titanium is the goal.

I'm personally planning on trying the EL with oem axle back to maintain all oem controlled valves etc using buttons in car at first. If that is still too mild then I'll branch out a bit. If that is not an issue or want a separate controller that AA vavled solution is rowdier than stock, so is the Valvetronic offering. Ark has a titanium option but if I recall their pricing is outrageous.

I'm coming from a v8 with full exhaust and long tube headers so no matter what an inline 6 with twins will be quieter but it can definitely be stepped up a bit over oem.

I am thinking the same. Ideally I want to get rid of that giant metal oem pillow. I like Valvtorinic as well, ideally I want to control valves from in car buttons also.

AA did 15% off for Labor Day. I can only imagine Black Friday sale will be at least that so whenever that starts I'm picking up the EL then determine if the AB needs upgrading as well. Again, I know the inline 6 with twins won't sound like my last v8 with lth, but it definitely needs an increase over stock. Although, not having the brutally violent cold starts anymore is a plus lol.

I have the full Active Autowerke setup. AA catted DPs, EL Midpipe, and valved rear section.

Sounds incredible. The cold start is incredibly loud. Saturday I'm returning to the stock muffler to try to tame that.

I have a video on my YouTube channel @ronjohnco where I go over the exhaust system and you can hear it.

Let me know if you have any more specific equations.

For the DP, did you end end adding o2 spacers or tune out any cel?

No CEL. Just installed as per their instructions and I've had no issues. They do offer a warranty on the DPs. If you get a CEL they'll replace them.

I was not aware of their DP warranty. That's pretty slick. Assumed you at least had to do the o2 spacer though.

Nope, no 02 spacers, and my ECU is still locked from the factory (until the spring when we turn this thing up).

Awesome. To my knowledge this is the only DP with that kind of warranty offered. Catless for sure needs the spacer or tune but pleasantly surprised this high flow catted version does not.

That's correct. Active is the only company that guarantees no CEL with their high flow GESI cat DPs.

Excellent products.

I see it being asked, I cant speak for all but the Valvetronic controller can be programmed to the buttons on the rear view mirror so you dont have to use the fob to open and close the valves (should you wish to close them).

Both EL and single vastly improve the mid-range sound, it's deeper with more volume.

The Equal length is more aggressive but tends to get mildly raspy on high RPM.

The Equal length is an excellent option if you are looking for a deeper midrange and more volume.

The single is the better option if you want more volume and a cleaner sound.

Where can I find info on this? I have a Valvetronic cat back going on after my break in service and would like to have this programmed.

Thanks

Install valve controller -> sync remote to mirror buttons just like you would with a garage remote, takes like 10 seconds

We offer different options, the most popular one is the SST

its easy to install, only costs a couple hundred dollars and can be programmed to your mirror buttons.

He already has the exhaust with controller, was asking how to program the controller into the buttons on the mirror.
