Anyone else still waiting for car off Turandot 01 JULY arrival NY/NJ
Mine is still not at the dealer , and I'm wondering if the reason is that 801 BMWs on one ship take a lot of time to process and ship, or it was maybe damaged and being repaired.
Please post your experience if your car was on this ship. Anyone know how to tell if there was damage, and whether this is a concern? BTW, the dealer has loaned me a sparkling new '05 325xi Touring until mine arrives.

If they loaned you a car, I bet it was damaged. You can always refuse the car and wait again or have the dealer try to locate something for you, but even that car could have had work done at the VPC. These post should help you out. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...&highlight=vpc http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...ghlight=vdc%2A http://autospies.com/article/index.a...4&categoryId=1 I hope this helps you.

Thanks for the posts, good people. Looks like the delivery line is getting overwhelmed!
I am now a lot less concerned that my car was damaged, it appears it left the VPC last Wednesday, so I'm assuming the reason for delay is not damage to the car. That's not enough time to do much other than cosmetic stuff, given that Monday was a holiday, and N.E.A.T doesn't work that day.

Mine is a european delivery. I took the delivery in Munich and gave it back to them a month back. I am wondering if it is damaged or what? It is a priority car, as it is already sold and I am making the monthly payments already..

I just called my sales rep and he still has no clue on the arrival. They said it's hard fo them to track once it's in transit. He said I should be able to take delivery this week.

Mine was on the Turandot. It was officially accepted by the BMW processing center on Tues 7/5. Still no sign of it at the dealership as of 7/12. The car has less than 200 miles to go (to the Albany, NY area). Now I think it's just a matter of how quickly they can fill a car transporter going to a particular area in the country, and how many stops the transporter must make prior to getting to my dealership. The dealer stated that, at this point, the car may actually arrive at the dealership before they receive notification of when the car is due in.

I talked to my dealer today, he still has no idea. He said since mine was a european delivery program car, they take more time to check the car for any foreign part or piece in it. He does not see any read flag on the car, so his guess is, it might be assigned to a trucking company tomorrow. But who knows, My other car is already sold, and the buyer will take the delivery on thursday and I will be without a car until I get my Beamer...

Mine was on the Turandot (see this post for when I ordered: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...ealm#post14473) and its still not at the dealer. Making matters worse is that my salesman is on vacation and some joker who could'nt care less is covering for him who is absolutely clueless. I love the car, but this entire experience just takes the fun out of everything.
How are people in NH, VA, and PA getting thier orders before people in the NY/NJ area? |

My dealer has tracked my car down at last! It's still at the NY/NJ port (N.E.A.T. aka VPC). Unbelievable!
Fortunately for me, my car is a priority 1 ("sold"). For the rest of you, I'd suggest you go shopping for winter tires, and arrange to have them fitted when the car hits the dealership.

My car got off the boat on 7/8/05 at NYC/NJ and now the 1800 number says it is waiting for a shipping vessel. WTF I hope they mean truck.

I just called my dealer Tulley and spoke with the F&I guy and he said that today the "Work Order " was printed then the next step is "Work Order Completed" then "Release to the Carrier." That could take days! He's not committing on a delivery time since my car was suppose to arrive on July 6.

UPDATE: Just got a call from the dealer, they just recieved a whole slew of E90's (NY metro area). I'll pick it up this Friday 7/15. Finally! (My original order was May 14)
Pics will be forthcoming. Let me know if there are specific parts or types of shots that anyone wants to see (night, motion, engine bay, documentation etc....) |

My dealer is pointing me back to the letter BMW sent to me and him, stating that it can take upto 20 business days from the day the car hits the port. So which means they are covered till end of the month. we can expect the car but they are okay, as we have not hit the time frame they have indicated.
Not knowing a date is frustrating, specially when you have driven the car already and can't wait to drive on the known streets. |
