Rear wings????

I am looking for a functional (ie- provides downforce) rear wing.
Verus looks promising but I have no idea how much it is
Akrapovic is way overpriced
AutoID/TRE is a good price but I don't know how functional it is and it's not a swan neck.

Any other suggestions?

What sort of downforce are you trying to achieve at what speed?

An efficient wing of 0.36 square metres in free air close to the roof height and positioned with about half of the area behind the back edge of the trunk (about 1.5m / 5’ wide and 0.24m / 9.5” deep) generates about 200N (45 pounds force) of downforce at 30m/s (108km/h, 67mph) or 560N (126 pounds force) at 50 m/s (180km/h, 112mph).

Anything smaller, less efficient or closer to the trunk will generate less downforce.

The short answer is more
This last weekend I felt like the car was floating a bit when I got above 130 mph

I'm also on the hunt for a rear wing. Here's another I found: https://bulletproofautomotive.com/pr...CABEgKIavD_BwE

In general, bags of sand tied down in the trunk will be easier and a lot cheaper to give more downforce, unless you know what you are trying to achieve across the whole use range aerodynamically.

A large rear wing will add a lot of drag and stunt top end speed and acceleration. At 130mph the wing size I mentioned above would give about 750N / 170 pounds of downforce as a fixed position single plane wing. I would try bags of sand of a similar weight before committing to anything, as more rear downforce may not be all that is needed, there maybe other suspension and aerodynamic tweaks needed, too.

I would be surprised if the car wasn’t stable at its top speed in stock form, though, with the correct tyre pressures. I’ve had the G87 over 200km/h on the track at the BMW M Experience Event and it was very stable. I’m sure it has been tested and proven stable on the track and autobahn at the 285km/h limit, otherwise there would be a lot of complaints coming from German owners.

I bought the Adro wing yesterday. $3350 due to BF sale. I admit that it is a lot of money for what it is. I thought about waiting until the Verus wing is released (in the video below) but I figure that it will be more $ than the Adro. The Verus looks like it has a lot of adjustability and I like how it mounts on the trunk hinge. I hope I don't regret my decision.

That Verus splitter in the video looks awesome.

I'm so torn if I like that wing, but pictures of the car have that effect - Perhaps in person, it would be love at first sight.

I'm a big fan of swan neck wings - Stradle and Verus seem to have the 2 I like the most. There is a high probability I will end up getting the Verus down the line.

I saw the Stradale design swan neck in person and it was beautiful. I think if I were to get a new wing I’d go the alpha-n but that is down the line.

Just installed one from ArmourExtend Art at performancespeedshop.com, almost identical to the large Alpha-N Flow through rear spoiler, it 3m tape sticks on and at a fraction of the price.

No offense, but that is nowhere near "identical" to the Alpha wing... looks super awkward to me. That's like calling a Kit car a Lambo..

Dude, I would want to drill that. I would not trust just 3M for a piece that size. Have you installed with glue / tiger seal too, at least?

The Verus wing is out now. Looks like a good, and probably the best, option for those looking for a functional wing that isn't overboard. I really like how it mounts to the trunk mount area.

100% ordering that wing... along with the other aero parts they release since its all kind of "matching".

Not sure about the "isn't overboard" part... that this is huge and definitely by far the largest option thus far. Swan neck is also gonna be the most aggressive mount aside from chassis mount

That doesn't mean it wont look gnarly! Would like to see some rear pics of it
