Are the lowering springs worth it? Which one is the best?
To start with the elephant in the room, the pricing from all vendors is absolutely criminal. 2/3x mark-up because the stock ride height is an eye sore. It’s close to passive coil over setup cost and halfway there for future EDC coil setups.
This said, I’ve test driven a stock M2 and I was very happy with the way it felt and handled. Lowering springs are generally hit and miss, sometimes they even ruin the ride completely. Aftermarket springs for this car are almost all (if not all) G82/80 M3/M4 derived so the spring rates will not be ad-hoc for the platform. This said, out of all the ones on the market, what’s the general consensus? As objective and un-bias as possible please. KW Has, Oem Has, MSS hybrid Has, Eibach

I cant offer too much in the way of info as i dont even have my car yet, however i ordered mine with the M performance HAS kit. Pricewise it was comparable as the kit itself is 1700$. The KW HAS kit is 1400$. They added 1000$ for labor costs. When i got my coilovers installed on my 2016 BRZ, i was charged about 1400$ from my shop to get them installed and an alignment. Thats 100$ delta and for me getting it from factory with BMW warranty on it was worth it.
I can only assume that BMW designed their HAS kit to work exceptionally well with the car so i cant imagine that it would change the ride significantly and make it worse. |

As far as the oem M springs go, they’re built for the G80/G82. Not a fitment issue but those cars have different spring rates than the M2. So is it really the right fit? The MSS kit somewhat feels like a better buy as it (at least says) keeps the spring rate comfortable and not too harsh

As has been stated, get the M Performance HAS aka sport suspension (these are made by KW but if you are concerned with warranty, get the M Performance). Here in the USA, best deal is port installed. Not sure if that is sn option in Europe.

I was able to get the HAS kit port installed and the car looks so much better with it plus as others have mentioned you get the warranty and it rolls into your financing. For me, the ride is outstanding it’s not too firm whatsoever.!

The lowering springs are one of the best mods for this car. it completely changes the look.
I use H&R adjustable springs on all my M cars, in my opinion its the best daily driver option.

Also, after considering other options for suspension upgrades this to me is quite cost-effective and very appealing since the parts will assume the 4 year 50K mile BMW factory warranty.

But to clarify, the part would be warrantied but installation and other parts related to the suspension would not be as it was not installed by BMW. Its not out of the question (being kibd) that you may not be covered if something goes wrong to a suspension related part id BMW did not install the HAS. |

Although in all fairness, my dealer would probably not even know how to get aftermarket performance catalogue items installed at port With warranty out the door, KW HAS sounds like the go-to option. MSS based on reviews doesn’t really inspire much confidence and their pricing is not very competitive. G8x M3/4s have been around for quite some time now, how come no EDC coil over kits being developed by KW or Bikstein?

I have heard great feedback on KW products and if I was going aftermarket I'd go with them.

That's what I was afraid but after telling my sales guy the HAS is a port-installed option he was to figure out how to add it to my build. Pricing was $2820 to add the HAS kit.

My CA didn't know that items could be added like that and it was his first attempt at doing it. Looks like it went through as I see it listed under the "Added Options" section in the production tracker. Another great example of getting insight and help from these forums. Without the forums I wouldn't have known to ask for this option.
