M2 front badge removal?

Hi
How do you remove the front M2 badge in the grill? Is there some clips or anything visible after removing it?

It's held in with a thin line of double sided tape. The letters are held into the "holder" (for lack of a better term by double sided tape as well. Removing the "holder" exposes two holes that pins on the back slide into.

I've already tried to paint it. Prepped, sanded, primed, painted & cleared. For whatever reason the paint peeled right off after letting it dry for 2 days. Some people may not want to mess with it & simply replace it. Options.
