Not certain on this, but the more 'base' S650 (not Performance Pack) comes with pretty high gearing in the rear end. Maybe 3.15? That may only be with the EcoBoost engine. While the Performance Pack S650s can have 3.55 and/or 3.73.

So, don't be shocked if you roll up to a S650 that has 3.73s in the rear end and the outcome isn't the same as this match-up. Unless you've got the ZF8 possibly. That might make it more interesting.

Personally, I would like to have seen the automatics matched up instead of the manual cars, but I think the S650 only gets the 3.55 with the auto. So, the G87 would probably destroy it.

Impressive if he really got 3.9s 0-60 in a manual.
I’m not even close to that so far.

Thank you for that. I don't know how I've missed seeing it. My Youtube algorithm failed. I stand corrected.

The only other video I think I've seen with a comparison between the Dark Horse and the G87 is maybe from Throttle House. I believe they put down a quicker lap time with their Dark Horse (separate videos), but I may be mistaken. My faith in Throttle House isn't what it used to be for that matter.

The Dark Horse did a slightly quicker lap than the M2.. but I think the the Dark Horse was on stickier tires and had more aero. I don't bother with Throttle House.. those guys are haters of the G87 M2.

If straight line acceleration is the KPI both the M2 & Mustang will be taken by Tesla Model 3 performance.

Only up to about 100mph. The G87 has a higher trap speed in the 1/4 mile, is faster to 130mph and a lot faster to 150mph:

why is this the argument interjected on every car forum when 0-60 or 1/4 mi comparison is made. The Model 3 wasn't a contestant in this thread. Guess what the Model 3 will get spanked by a sport bike and round & round we go. There's always somebody faster. Nobody cares about a Model 3.

Z German horse powa is very different from american 453 German means 500 in z real world )

M cars are way faster then their hp rating, especially vs American cars.

Plenty of 800hp m5 examples that takes out way more powerful cars

It’s always precision of engineering that takes the win

You’re missing the point here Beavis. Electric vs. gasoline. The motor designs have nothing in common. Pay attention or back to high school.
BTW aspirated has only 1 “s”. Getting closer to high school…………

German horsepower vs American horsepower hehe

It's kind of weird seeing my car so stock, this was filmed like 3 months ago so I've done a bunch of stuff since. Front end is so bare and awkward without a carbon lip!
