It helps for beginners(or any wet surface), but anyone can drift anywhere if you know how.

Topher is ultimate, the camera position gives me an experience as if I am behind the steering wheel.
I think the driving part of his car reviews is the best of all the influencers on YouTube Test drives Manual Transmissions very well, does not rush the shifts that many others do in reviews |

This was the part of my class that I looked forward to the most and failed horribly at.
I could NOT get a hang of it. Either do nothing or spin out. My confidence was busted. I didn't do the M5 any justice.

I wouldn't worry about it at all, if you're good with getting out of the skid (CPR method) then that's all you truly need. I was horrible on the skidpad but excelled on the track. Can't win em all but the best part is that you can practice all you want in a safe manner somewhere.

Great video! I hope to go to a skid pad someday to try this out. Nice speedmaster by the way.

Ahh yes...I know that skidpad. Donnie Isley on the radio takes me right back. If you can't get it at first, keep trying. Or go to Sweden for Ice Driving. I'll be back there in 4 weeks. Wonder if we'll have M2s this year. Thinking so.

Yea, we had them on the Ring last summer. Historically, the winter school would have both so you'd get to switch it up, but last 2 years it's just been M4Cs.

This is the truth. I instruct at Summit Point with NCCBMWCCA and they have 6 proper skidpads there. But I also instruct at VIR and they do not have any, nor are there any in that area so people who live around there have to drive 4 hours to their nearest skidpad.
We've tried to petition VIR to build one but they're not interested. I think skidpad training is the single most important part of high performance driving. The main reason people spin or go off at the track, besides vision, is lack of training/experience with understeer and oversteer.
