I haven’t seen it on the news page yet so I’ll post it here.
The grill design is a lot better. |

Combat-ready terrible, but it definitely has a better grille.

Not to rag on you or this designer at all, but that was proposed within days of the initial publication of the new look. There was a lot of speculation about whether this might be produced for the aftermarket, but it appears that never happened. It’s too bad, because I think there would have been a pretty fair demand for it and I’d like to see how big the demand would be.

TimmyM56 Posted the clear winner in another thread. A baby M8 was what we deserved, not the complete abomination we were given. The cars are into their fifth model year soon, so now that the newness has worn off, we’re just left with the butt ugly. To make it worse we’re stuck with these for more production years than normal. It’s just awful.
How it should have been. The sides and rear are another story. Those need complete overhauls as well but at least this fixes the front. |

Oh my, did I just get caught in a time machine or something?
When I first saw the G8X front end I told myself I would never own such an ugly car. When I started the search for a manual-transmission sedan I began considering it. I still don't love the front-end look, but I do think it has a certain aggressiveness that suits the car. @jmg has it right -- this is beating a dead horse. Let's move on.
